Music legend Cyndi Lauper adds to her history of holiday classics with a new cover of Hard Candy Christmas, which was originally recorded by Dolly Parton and written by Carol Hall. The song originated in the play and film The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. It can be heard here and will be available at all digital download and streaming outlets tomorrow, December 11.
Lauper is production for her new album Detour, which was recorded in Nashville and showcases her takes on country songs from the 50s and 60s. The album is the follow up to Lauper’s most recent studio album, the Grammy-nominated Memphis Blues which featured collaborations with B.B. King, Jonny Lang, Allen Toussaint, Ann Peebles and Charlie Musselwhite.
