Fifty Shades of Grey author E. L. James has launched a collection of wines named for her best-selling book trilogy. How unexpected. “I’ve always had a penchant for good wine,” she says, “so combining two of my passions to blend Red Satin and White Silk was a natural extension of the series. I hope my readers curl up with a glass as they enjoy the romance between Anastasia and Christian.” James claims she personally blended the wines with winemakers on California’s North Coast. The Fifty Shades of Grey Red Satin is a blend of Petite Syrah and Syrah and is described as having notes of black cherry, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, leather, clove, and, we suspect, subtle bottom notes of scented lube, ass, and semen. Bottles will retail for $18 in select states across the US beginning in October. (via pursuitist)
