This is EXTREMELY difficult to watch. Shortly after Bette Davis‘ death in 1989, her daughter BD Hyman was interviewed by Connie Chung, and let’s just say SHE WAS NO FAN of her mother. Whew. She makes Christina Crawford look like Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. She unloads a list of petty grievances and not-so-petty accusations against her mother that will make you gasp at her audacity. I mean. REALLY. She had JUST buried her mother! The body was still warm! I don’t know if what she says is true or not. I imagine Bette was a difficult woman in the best of times, and to have her as a mother probably wasn’t always ideal. Still. There’s a time and place to air your family’s dirty laundry, and it usually involves therapist and not a major television network.
