If you’re on Instagram, you get to see your friend’s wedding that you couldn’t make, the party in the Hamptons you missed or your sister’s new-born in Idaho – it’s changed the way we share what we see. So, of course following the fashion insiders is the best way to get in on New York Fashion Week. The shots here are from my old pals, Sasha Charnin Morrison, fashion editor at Us Weekly and Susan Kaufman, the editor-in-chief of People Style Watch. Susan (top photos) is new Instagram convert with an expert eye and a taste for the classics; “So fun running into @peoplestylewatchmag contributor @timgunn at #nyfw. Nicest guy ever!” Sasha (bottom pics) is an Instagramin’ pro who is OBSESSED with shoes and writes funny tags; “At #prabalgurung everyone’s mad, wears a bold lipstick and does it all in pastel. I feel nervous, as they look like well dressed, root canal specialists – don’t they?” I love seeing what they are into as they discover it. Also, it’s EXHAUSTING to run all over town, so, since it’s their job, I just let them do all the work.
Here are some other great Instagram feeds to follow to see what’s been happening so far in New York at Fashion Week.
