Dan Floyd of Dan Good Cookies was handing out free pride flags at his local farmer’s market. His alleged rule violation elicited a testy response from California Farmers’ Market Association director Gail Hayden that was so over the top that the fallout continues this week.
The incident, which took place during Pride Month in Livermore, California, led to resignation of California Farmers’ Market Association (CFMA) from their management role at the market. The City of Livermore and Livermore Pride released a statement last Friday:
Dan is currently overwhelmed with both emotions and orders:
I am experiencing too many emotions and being bombarded with too many phonecalls and messages to say it any other way. Thank you for your support over these last few days. I never could have imagined people from my Livermore community and beyond would respond to this situation in such large numbers.
