Probably the LAST thing the Godby family of Peterborough, Ontario was expecting when they went hiking at the Lusk Cave in Gatineau Park, Ottawa, was a run-in with their impossibly hunky Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (SHIRTLESS, YET!) and his gorgeous wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau and their children. But that’s just what happened.
Father Jim Godby posted about the surreal moment on his Facebook page (along with the selfie picture his son Alexander took with the PM), saying:
“We got to a point on the trail that overlooks a hole down into the cave. It was about 30 feet across. We heard a voice say, ‘This is the moment of truth. Do we stop here or continue?’. Arlene and I immediately recognized the voice to be that of Justin Trudeau. He was leading with enthusiasm and determination and seemed genuinely excited. It was then we decided to wait till they emerged from the last section of the cave. When they emerged, it was indeed who we thought. My daughter Charlotte said hello to Sophie and we briefly exchanged a few words about conditions in the cave as we had not yet reached the entrance of the cave. My son took a selfie and that was it. Off they went on their way and off we went on ours. Just another family outing on the trails of Gatineau Park.”
A vacation story I’ll bet they never forget.
My GOD that Justin Trudeau is one handsome man. Evidence below. (via The Peterborough home page; via Towleroad)
