Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, from The Fabulous Beekman Boys and winners of The Amazing Race have opened a pop-up shop in the East Village! Brent told The New York Times that he chose the location because it had a “sense of sustainability, grit, strife and entrepreneurship that perfectly fits where our company is at the moment.” The popup store (The Beekman 1802 Holiday Gift Emporium,) is a mini-version of their flagship store in Sharon Springs, N.Y. The pop up store is stocked with Lump of Kohl soap ($15) made from the milk of goats on their farm, cheese cutters forged by their blacksmith ($28), linens made by their master weaver and autographed copies of their four books.
The Beekman 1802 Holiday Gift Emporium is open Tuesday to Sunday, until Dec. 23, from noon to 6 p.m. Brent and Josh are available for personal shopping by appointment on Mondays at 80 East Seventh Street (First Avenue).
