Elon Musk was loudly booed by a San Francisco audience Sunday night.
The Tesla/ Twitter man was invited onstage by the equally controversial Dave Chappelle who said near the end of his set at the Chase Center,
Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the richest man in the world.”
The booing got louder as Musk wandered around onstage with a microphone in hand unsure of what to do. Chappelle said,
Cheers and boos, I see. Elon…
It sounds like some of the people you fired are in the audience.
All these people who are booing, and I’m just pointing out the obvious, you have terrible seats.
(Phones weren’t allowed inside the stadium for the show, but at least one person snuck theirs in and captured the bizarre exchange, posting it to Twitter where it has since been deleted.)
After Chappelle’s jokes about “titty bars” in space, the crowd of 18,000 seemed to be won back over and Musk started to speak again.
Thanks for having me up on stage.”
More boos. Chappelle’s jokes continued to get drowned out by boos anytime Musk tried to speak, who was desperate and embarrassed at the roar of booing.
Dave, what should I say?”
Don’t say nothing. It’ll only spoil the moment.
Do you hear that sound, Elon? That’s the sound of pending civil unrest. I can’t wait to see what store you decimate next, motherfucker.
You shut the fuck up.”
The mood in the stadium changed when Chappelle vehemently defended Musk. Sensing this was a bad idea, Dave wrapped it up.
I wish everyone in this auditorium peace and the joy of feeling free.
And your pursuit of happiness. Amen.”
You can see the whole encounter on four YouTube posts but not on Twitter, where it was originally posted. Hmmm? The first comment on YouTube wonders why?
Can’t imagine how or why this video would be censored on Twitter. It sure can’t be Elon, cause he promised to return free speech to Twitter.”
Let me add two more…
