This has got to be the most humiliating assignment for a cop, like being the geek at the circus. During the holiday season, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orlando has instituted Operation ELF: Enforcing Limits and Fining speeders (that “s” in “speeders” is somewhat inconvenient), in which deputies wearing ridiculous costumes, lurk beside highways, use a radar gun to clock speeders, then pull them over and ticket them. We imagine drivers, especially the ones with one too many eggnogs in them, have a hard time suppressing laughter as the oafish imps ask for license and registration. (Source)
