What better venue for a party celebrating someone’s 80th birthday than New York’s Museum of Natural History amid all the taxidermy, dinosaurs, and ancient peoples. Birthday boy Tony Bennett must have felt right at home last week when his celebrity friends gathered to wish him many more returns of the day. (Actually, the party was held in the Rose Center for Earth and Space.) John Travolta was there with just the best gift of all, a book of artwork by Scientology founder and prolific book-writer L Ron Hubbard, who, though dead himself, gives hope to his flock that they’re good for a billion years. “My best Tony Bennett memory was when he sang ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ a cappella at my birthday party,” Travolta said. “It was all a surprise. Kelly called him and set it all up.” However, Bennett told the NY Daily News a different story. “He sent me a personal letter and asked me to be there,” he said.
