Who is is lying the least? The National Enquirer or his publicist? According to The National Enquirer he was found semi-conscious, lying in a pool of blood at his Hobe Sound, Florida home, and is now being held in the psych ward.
“The houseman found Burt. He’d fallen and was badly cut. The houseman drove him to the hospital. But this time, Burt was behaving strangely, and doctors were so concerned about his state of mind that they sent him to the county mental health facility in West Palm Beach.” And his admission to rehab may not have been entirely voluntary. According to other sources, in the past couple of weeks Reynolds has been in and out of the local emergency room, acting increasingly loonier each time. Finally, the hospital allegedly refused to release him unless he agreed to head straight to rehab.
However his publicist released this perky statement: “After a recent back surgery, Mr. Reynolds felt like he was going through hell and after a while, realized he was a prisoner of prescription pain pills. He checked himself into rehab in order to regain control of his life. Mr. Reynolds hopes his story will help others in a similar situation.” No blood, no crazy, in this version.
Somewhere between the two stories lies what really happened. But who’s telling the most truth?
