Omg, is that Ke$ha? No, it’s Lynn Redgrave as Baby Jane Hudson in the most demented, most unnecessary remake of all time. It aired in 1991, and one can only imagine a young Courtney Love watching it saying: “Oh THAT’S a good idea, and THAT’S a good idea, and I think I’ll steal THAT…” I remembered it yesterday when WOW commenter GeorgyGirl watched the trailer for the upcoming Mildred Pierce remake, and asked “What’s next?” and “Why, God?? WHY?” The more I thought about it, the more I realized it needed a posting of its own. I put this remake in the Pantheon of Unfortunate Ideas alongside Markie Mark’s Planet of the Apes “re-imagining“, Jennifer Grey’s nose job, and that weird Saturday morning cartoon when the Three Stooges were robot superheroes. (How disturbing was THAT?) Anyway, Whatever Happened to Lynn Redgrave’s Career Baby Jane is so wonderfully rotten you’ll want to watch it every night for the rest of your life, I guarantee.
