Grab is a World of Wonder documentary produced and directed by award-winning documentarian (and wowlebrity) Billy Luther (and narrated by Parker Posey) that shines light on the rarely-seen Grab Day in the villages of the Laguna Pueblo tribe. Once a year, the villagers throw water and food items from the rooftops of houses to people standing below, who… grab them. Billy’s film follows three families preparing for the event, and chronicles their lives leading up to the day. If you’ve seen a Luther movie before, you know they’re totally engrossing, habit-forming even. A festival favorite, the film premieres on PBS tomorrow (Election Day! Yikes!) at some random times: KLCS PBS 58 at 8PM, PBS WORLD KOCE at 5AM, 11PM, 4PM, and 9PM. Airing through November 11. That a lotta times, but all likely inconvenient. Because it’s, as we said, Election Day, and you should be at the polls, voting for Obama. So best to DVR it. Party idea: Invite some friends over to watch it with you and find out how many things they can grab out of your home while you’re immersed in it.
