Ana Ayala, the woman who allegedly found a severed finger in her chili at a Wendy’s in San Jose, has been arrested at her home in Las Vegas. Apparently hauled off in cuffs last night. Earlier in the day, Wendy’s said it had put a lid on its internal investigation into how a finger could have wound up in its chili. All employee digits were present and accounted for; ditto food suppliers to the restaurant. No one came forward to claim the $100,000 reward for information. Since the March 22 incident, Wendy’s California sales have been lackluster, so franchises in the stricken area will be offering free Junior Frostys this weekend to lure customers back. We’ll definitely be going for that sweet deal. You can’t really suck a finger up a straw. (San Jose Mercury News)
