Netflix just announced plans for a new original movie starring The First Wives Club team of Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton! According to Deadline, the gals are reuniting for Divanation, which will tell the story of a former girl group who reconnect 30 years after a nasty split.
Bette confirmed the news on her Twitter (which you should follow if you like a good dose of Diva Daily) revealing that the trio are “gearing up” to make the film.
It’s been almost 20 years since the three appeared together in the 1996 cult classic, and they sing together in the end if you remember, so the girl group idea TOTALLY suits. They made such a great team, it’s exciting to see them together in ANYTHING, even if it were for Depends. (It’s a JOKE! Calm down!)
The film’s writers, Lisa Addario and Joey Syracuse, are just now working on the script, and so far no director has been hired, so it’s not out next month, let’s just say. We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, let’s watch them do, You Don’t Own Me.
