Disney has just confirmed what Bette Midler has been hinting at for years.
Hocus Pocus 2 is happening!
Jen D’Angelo, (Workaholics), is writing the script, which is in the works at Disney Plus, their new forthcoming streaming service.
The original 1993 movie got bad reviews and fell out of the sky at box office, like Winnie, but now it’s considered a cult classic.
Sources told Collider that D’Angelo is tasked with finding a way to bring back the original cast of Bette Midler as Winifred, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah, and Kathy Najimy as Mary.
The project is still in early development it remains unclear whether they’ll be the main characters, or whether we’ll see them pass the broom to a new generation of bitchy witches.
But many feel the same as one Twitter user said of the sequel news,
“If it doesn’t have the original cast they can keep it.”

Kenny Ortega directed the original with Omri Katz as the young male lead, Max with little sis, Thora Birch, girlfriend Vinessa Shaw, and Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson. Thackery Binks, was the immortal victim of the Sisters and transformed into the talking cat, Binks.
Disney even has the Sanderson Sisters out in their theme parks for Halloween, so they are committed to the brand. And Bette even performs I Put a Spell on You, in her concerts.
Let’s revisit that big musical number, maybe by this time next year, we’ll have a new movie or even a new Bette song.
Watch.
