In a shocking move worthy of a Friday afternoon cliffhanger, the producers of Days of Our Lives have released THE ENTIRE CAST from their contracts… just as it’s about to go on an indefinite hiatus at month’s end.
Does this mean the end of the long-running soap? Will we ever find out who murdered Ben’s sister, Jordan? If Princess Gina will be turned back into Hope Brady? Who else evil Dr Rolf will return from the dead? WHY WILL IS IN PRISON?
Days actually shoots eight months in advance, so the show will have enough episodes in the can for it to last through Summer 2020.
But by releasing the contracted cast members from from their commitment to the show, producers have no guarantee who — if anyone — will return.
via TVLine:
“It’s actually a shrewd — if cynical — business move,” sniffs one insider. “If Days gets picked up, [Producer Ken Corday] can offer the actors new contacts at a reduced rate and with a ‘take-it-or-leave’ it attitude. Worst case scenario, they lose half their cast. Best case scenario [for Corday], everyone agrees to return at a lower salary.”
In other words…. STAY TUNED.
