To say that celebrities have been willfully obtuse during the coronavirus is a bit of an understatement. From Gal Gadot and her celebrity friends oh-so-earnestly singing “Imagine no possessions” from their gilded palaces, to Cardi B whining that she was “losing my fucking mind” because “I want to put on my fucking expensive outfits and go out” – it’s all a bit cringe-inducing. Don’t even get me started on Vanessa Hudgens, who said concerns over the virus was “a bunch of bullshit’ and : “I’m sorry, but like, it’s a virus? I get it, I respect it, but at the same time I’m like, even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible but like, inevitable?” And Evangeline Lilly who bragged about ignoring social distancing rules. “Just dropped my kids off at gymnastics camp,” she tweeted, “they are playing and laughing. #businessasusual. Adding: “Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over lives. We all make our choices.” Ooof.
But the absolute most jaw-droopingly out-of-touch post comes from billionaire super-producer David Geffen who shared his own coronavirus struggle, posting a photo of his ginormous $590 million yacht with the caption: ‘Sunset last night… Isolated in the Grenadines avoiding the virus. I hope everybody is staying safe.’
Hate to say it by I agree with Meghan McCain (!!!) who wrote: “David Geffen is worth 8 billion dollars! For God’s sake help this country get ventilators, our health workers masks and the medical supplies they need! Or no, just stay on your fucking yacht instagramming. This is just shameful and grotesque.”
Others in the Twiiterverse followed. Just type “David Geffen” into twitter to see the landslide of hate he’s getting. Maybe the rich and famous should leave their social media to their PR people… SMH.

Is anyone shocked that Democrat donor David Geffen posted such an out of touch photo? He might as well have taken a picture flipping everyone in America off. pic.twitter.com/wjEgWdLa31— Robby Starbuck (@robbystarbuck) March 28, 2020
David Geffen’s thought process: “Hey you know what, millions are losing their jobs, can’t pay their rent and they’re worried about a deadly pandemic, I bet they’d love to know how I’m doing. Fire up the copter so we can take some more pics of my yacht! They’ll love this!!!” 💀 pic.twitter.com/yby7xOjb8C— Robby Starbuck (@robbystarbuck) March 28, 2020
