On last night’s KTLA news, the TOTALLY HUNKY Brandon Rudat went after nutbag LA Unified School District Superintendent Ramon Cortines about his decision to suspend three teachers without pay for including OJ Simpson, Dennis Rodman, and (our beloved) RuPaul in their African-American parade. “I want our children to have the very best models to look up to,” he said, “not ones that have questions around them.” Specifically, about RuPaul he says: “He is NOT a model that I want around in front of the children of this school district.” Our hero, Brandon, then gets RIGHT UP IN THE OLD BASTARD’S FACE and challenges him with: “Is that because he’s gay and a drag queen?” Ramon sputters and says “NO! NO! NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT!” Um, then what? Is it Ru’s hit records that he finds offensive? Her hit TV show? Her inspirational message of beauty, joy, inclusiveness, and loving yourself? What EXACTLY is wrong with RuPaul? Well, he doesn’t really have an answer, other than there were no doctors included in the school’s celebration. Sharon Tinson, a mother to one of the students, sums it up perfectly: “To me, there are other things to be outraged about, RuPaul is not one of them.” Here! Here! Although, I’m wondering if a certain supermodel drag queen icon might not want to make an appearance in front of the school, or AT THE VERY LEAST have her minions organize a protest. Just putting it out there. After all, with seven weeks left of RuPaul’s Drag Race, a good scandal is always a perfect ratings booster! (via KTLA News)
