Enterprise captain William Shatner has turned down a comp £114,000 ticket from Richard Branson for a seat on Virgin Galactic‘s first passenger flight in 2008, even though the spacecraft is named Enterprise in honor of the ship on Shatner’s 40-year-old cult series. “I’m interested in man’s march into the unknown,” said the former Captain Kirk, “but to vomit in space is not my idea of a good time. Neither is a fiery crash with the vomit hovering over me.” Turns out the actor’s terrified of space travel, and Branson couldn’t guarantee his safe return. But we’re thinking he’s actually afraid there won’t be enough space in space for his Orson Wellesian bulk. However, Sylphlike Sigourney Weaver, who is not afraid to go where no man has gone before, has booked a seat. (Daily Mail)
