Courtney Love lashed out at pop princess/High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star Olivia Rodrigo over the percieved similarities in their album covers.
Hole’s iconic album cover for Live Through This features a close-up shot of a beauty queen with makeup streaming down her cheeks and holding a bouquet of flowers. Rodrigo’s new album similarly shows the singer with makeup running down her face while wearing a crown and holding flowers.
“Since I never got to go to prom, I wanted to throw a little prom party with my fav ppl (you guys obvs),” the teen queen captioned the original tweet.
Courtney was not amused.
“Spot the difference! #twinning!” Love wrote on various social media platforms before calling Rodrigo “rude.”
“Does Disney teach kids reading and writing? God knows.” Love continued. “Let’s see. Yes this is rude. Rage inducing? Honey if I had a dollar for everyone [sic] this happens? I’d be real rich!”
Rodrigo eventually commented on Love’s Instagram post — not seeming to realize that Love was ticked off.
“love u and live through this sooooo much,” Rodrigo wrote.
Love responded by telling Rodrigo where her favorite florist was located and that she “looks forward to reading” a note from the Disney star. HA!
