RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s move to MTV was BIG ratings win!
Deadline is reporting that the Season 15 premiere was the highest-rated in six years.
The stats show that:
- Season 15 premiere had a 0.63 rating among the advertiser-targeted 18-49 demographic
- Up 20% in ratings from the Season 14 premiere which had an 8% increase in its demo rating
- No. 1 cable entertainment telecast of the day
- Highest live + same-day rating of any premiere since Season 9, the first one to air on VH1
It was the most social season premiere ever for the series with 1.3M interactions, outperforming the prior season premiere by over 200%!
RuPaul’s Drag Race switching from VH1 to MTV has a lot to do with the jump, as the last time that the series switched networks (from Logo TV to VH1) it saw a similar spike.
