Comedian Jensen Karp tweeted yesterday that his box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch contained shrimp tails.
Ummmm @CTCSquares – why are there shrimp tails in my cereal? (This is not a bit) pic.twitter.com/tTjiAdrnVp

General Mills cereal responded saying it appeared to be “an accumulation of cinnamon sugar” and that there was “no possibility of cross-contamination with shrimp.”
But Karp wasn’t buying it and responded:
“After further investigation with my eyes, these are cinnamon coated SHRIMP TAILS, you weirdos. I wasn’t all that mad until you now tried to gaslight me?”
In a statement to USA TODAY, General Mills spokesperson Mike Siemienas said the company was still investigating but “can say with confidence that this did not occur at our facility.”
Jensen then went on say he went digging even further and found more gross stuff … including a small piece of possibly used dental floss and tiny specks of black gunk on some of the cereal. Which many are theorizing are rat droppings that have been baked into the cereal.
So far, General Mills is sticking to its guns, saying it must have happened off site from their facility. Riiiiiiiiiiiiciiight….
Ok, I have sent you a DM. Fair warning, I look different since eating your cereal today. https://t.co/s9tUn2EOD3 pic.twitter.com/6otUwUmrYo

Should I take MY shrimp tail to a lab? I’m all-in. pic.twitter.com/QCWuqCKgH6

I was convinced to go back through the bag, since when I first noticed the shrimp tails, I freaked out and closed the box. Here’s all my findings, which also now includes a weird little string? pic.twitter.com/mRDUhqG3I8

Also, many of the squares have black marks, and some are dyed red? And yes, I ate a bowl before noticing all this. pic.twitter.com/Y9WWmsTznP

I think it’s also important to state that the black things – are cooked (?) INTO the square? pic.twitter.com/bAySDbDLyw

UPDATE: my wife has a stronger stomach than me and checked the OTHER bag in the family pack. This one seems taped up (?) and also appears to include…(I don’t even want to say it)…dental floss. pic.twitter.com/yKPkpx7PWq

Something regarding the stupid “Did he fake this?” take: there are black items COOKED ONTO the squares and tons of it at the bottom of the bag, in addition to shrimp tails and other SUGAR COATED junk. Also, it’s only “viral” because of their insane response. I would’ve dropped it pic.twitter.com/WOt9j2V0sg
