My old pal and Vanity Fair colleague, Kevin Sessums hates Trump as much or more than I do, and if you like thousands of others, follow him on Facebook, you’ll know the MANY reasons why. Today he introduced a brilliant idea. I’ll let him tell you about it…
“If this were a Netflix series – and God knows it sometimes seems the only lens through which to view it – an American business man would be seduced by a beautiful bot-like female master spy from a foreign government. She would become his handler and manipulator. She would open up even more contacts to the foreign government unbeknownst to him at first that she was the lynchpin of all the money he would need to launder. She would open up contacts for him in the country that controls her and send him its way to lay the groundwork for more kompromat on him even than she was amassing by being in close proximity to all the nefarious ways he earns his money.
It is put in his head to run for president. Even he doesn’t believe he can win but that it would be good for his brand. She knows though that the fix is in – he does too once he starts saying that the fix is in for the other candidate because like all cons he always accuses others of what he is guilty of, he always says just the opposite of what he means. But the biggest con has been played on him – that’s the wrinkle in the narrative – when he realizes that his wife is the spy who controls him.
When he begins to buck at having a new kind of power in the presidency, her handlers back in the foreign country warn him of their utter control over him by poisoning her just enough to put her in the hospital and, thus, proving how very close they are to him and that the same thing could happen to him or his children. The master spy goes along with the plan – maybe even poisoning herself – knowing how much it will increase their control over their asset in the Oval Office.
Once she emerges from the hospital with her asset’s new understanding of just how serious the control is over him -he’s warned that his older daughter is next to end up the hospital or maybe even he himself – then he is activated in Stage Two of the operation. We are now seeing that playing out.
The first season is coming to an end. Stay tuned for Season Two. Or will it be cancelled?
Don’t you love binge-watching a Netflix series? But doesn’t it feel exhausting finally?“
When I asked Kevin if I could post this here, I also asked what the title of the series would be? The reply came back 5 seconds later;
