Yesterday, you’ll remember, the 67-year-old songstress Cher publicly criticized virtually everything about Miley Cyrus’ performance at the VMAs (jeez, when even was that?), saying “She can’t dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn’t great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don’t stick out your tongue if it’s coated.” That was yesterday. It seems her remarks became the most popular story on the USA Today site, surpassing news about Syria, Russia, Colorado submerged in water, and speculation on who would win Big Brother 15. In light of that, Cher now has tweeted a kind of twisted and semiliterate, rambling sort-of apology. To wit, verbatim: “I’m a little ashamed. I didn’t keep my big Opinionated mouth shut…. What I should have said (is) ‘I didn’t like (the performance) that much, but she’s Pushing The Envelope, being an ARTIST. She’s talented,& DIDNT COMMIT A FELONY. But somehow my ego had 2 get ITS 2 CENTS IN! Ps this is Not an apology 4 what I Thought, its a Reminder, that if I don’t practice my principles,I loose Them.” Babe.
