Chelsea Manning, currently serving a 35-year sentence for leaking classified military documents to WikiLeaks, landed in the prison hospital yesterday after attempting suicide.

TMZ remains unclear as to the specifics, but sources claim she tried to hang herself.

Fort Leavenworth, Kansas prison officials say that although she has been released from the hospital she is being “monitored.”

Manning transitioned from male to female behind bars.
