“Once I get going / the champagne is flowing / your body is saying what everyone’s thinking,” Brown croons over sensuous stabs of synth that seem to arrive from an intergalactic version of Studio 54. A longtime environmental advocate, Tammie also gives a shoutout to ocean life and the plastic straw bans gaining a foothold in national consciousness.
“‘Round ‘n Round,’ my new single, is a fantasy explosion that encourages audiences to let go. In this sexy number, I kick it up a notch, forgoing subtly, and I’m commanding the room,” Brown tells Billboard. “This disco record marks my first foray into my ‘Schubert’ alter ego, a taste of the full album to come on October 19.”
“It’s a little more sassy, very tongue-in-cheek,” Brown told Billboard of the albumover the summer. “When [my producer Pierce Rolli] asked for ideas, I mentioned the [Tina Turner] album Break Every Rule. Amanda Lear, of course, and Mexican artists like Lucia Mendez with ‘Corazón De Piedra’ and Dulce with her song ‘Tu Muñeca.'”
