TMZ reports today that Two and a Half Men star Conchata Ferrell was recently transferred to a long-term care facility following more than four weeks in ICU. She’s been in the hospital since May after battling an infection back in December/January.
According to her husband Arnie, she’s now in the respiratory unit of a treatment center where she’s on a respirator and dialysis. So far, she’s stable and semi-conscious, somewhat aware of her surroundings, but can’t talk or communicate.
Arnie tells us he speaks with Conchata’s nurse frequently but he can’t visit her due to COVID-19. To be clear … Conchata is NOT suffering from coronavirus.
At this point, Conchata’s future is unclear. Arnie tells us, “It’s going to be a while before there’s any recovery. It’s all neurological. There’s nothing we can do to speed it up the process. We are hoping for the best.”
In addition to playing the salty housekeeper Berta on the long-running comedy, Conchata has starred in movies like Edward Scissorhands, Erin Brockovich, and Krampus, as well as the groundbreaking (but short-lived) ’70’s series Hot L Baltimore (famous for featuring the first gay couple on television)
