Shirley “Eaten” and 39 other babes from the OO7 films get mutilated in a new exhibition at the Gagosian Gallery in London. They say looking at the images by artist Douglas Gordon is like coming upon a shrine created by a serial killer.

A picture of each girl, mutilated beyond recognition by burn marks which have eaten into the cavities of eyes, mouth and nostrils, and occasionally obliterate half a rictus-grinning face, has been imprinted on mirrored panels. As you survey each image, a slight adjustment to focus presents your own innocuous face in a ghoulish double portrait.
