Mattel just released a line of six new dolls in “streetwear-influenced” style to celebrate Barbie‘s 60th birthday. The dolls include two Kens, by Carlyle Nuera, and are dressed in
“high-low fashion mixes, re-imagined ‘90s gear, and juxtaposed patterns.”
Slightly odd to use 90s retro for a 60 year-old doll, “born” in the 50s, but OK.
The designer brand Nuera created is the BMR1959 Collection, which at first might be a bit of a head-scratcher. Until you remember (or look up) Barbie’s full name:
Barbara Millicent Roberts
FYI, this question is on the U.S. Citizenship Exam.
Happy birthday, BMR!
