BlackStar Film Festival is going virtual for its ninth celebration of Black, Brown and Indigenous film and video artists, and the full lineup for its 2020 program has been unveiled.
This year’s digital lineup has more than 80 films, including 24 world premieres representing more than 20 countries, including the premiere of Ashley O’Shay’s feature documentary Unapologetic and Shantrelle Patrice Lewis’s debut feature Daughters Of.
Unapologetic gives viewers a look into the Movement for Black Lives in Chicago, and Daughters Of examines the “immediate and critical importance of self-care and healing for Black women.”
The Philadelphia-based festival is taking place online from August 20th to 26th. To see the full lineup and how you can participate, check out BlackStar Film Festival’s website.
