During her ‘Where Do We Go?’ world tour, Billie Eilish began screening “Not My Responsibility,” a powerful commentary on the impossible expectations and standards she faces. Now she has released it on YouTube:
In voiceover as she slowly undresses, she whispers, “Do you know me? Really know me? You have opinions about my opinions, about my music, about my clothes, about my body…”
As with many of her music videos, Billie wrote and produced the piece herself. Last year, she explained her fashion choices in a Calvin Klein ad:
I never want the world to know everything about me. I mean, that’s why I wear big, baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath, you know?
