We’re not crying, YOU’RE CRYING. Okay, we’re crying too.
Ranging from icon Britney Spears to legendary Martha Walsh, Billboard Magazine asked some of the LGBTQ Communities’ most devoted artists to write letters of love and acceptance as we hit the first day of Gay Pride Month!
Each and every one of these letters are my favorites. Seriously, I sit here typing with tears on my keyboard knowing how all of these people are so incredibly dedicated to the LGBTQ Community and their success, love, and friendship.
Get your tissues ready and read the love letters from Michelle Visage, RuPaul, and Megan Mullally, and then head over to the Billboard Magazine website to ready every single one.
Honestly, you should definitely read them all because they’re amazing, just make sure you have at least three boxes of tissues handy.
Check out the three love letters below!
Michelle Visage
Via Billboard Magazine:
“As a mom to biological children and adopted gay children all around the world, nothing gives my heart strings a tug as much as seeing a parent stand by their queer/gay/trans child with beaming pride. As time marches on I am lucky enough to be able to witness an increase in these instances and that let’s me know that our message is being heard.
We must keep fighting until using the word “equality” isn’t necessary because we will all be living as one. You are beautiful. You are loved. You are perfect just the way you are. Never change. I LOVE YOU!”
Megan Mullally
Via Billboard Magazine:
“Dear LGBTCuties,
As we celebrate Pride in this distressing time, we take comfort in the knowledge that nothing and no one can stop our forward motion. The ever-increasing swell of tolerance, acceptance, and awareness that lives and breathes in more and more people from every walk of life, every day. Enlightened humans, spreading that light one to the other to the other. We press on. We don’t balk. We stand tall. Slowly the tide turns and keeps on turning.
I love you all and hold you in my heart.”
And Mother RuPaul.
Via Billboard Magazine:
“We must remember that our greatest strength is in our love of life and colors, beauty and music, dancing and joy. That is our secret weapon. That is something that the opposition does not have. Keep those things near and dear to your heart because in times of war that will sustain you.”
Make sure you head over to Billboard to check out ALL of the Love Letters to the LGBTQ Community!
Side note: I can’t help but feel that Kathy Griffin was asked to write one of these… I wonder if they omitted her?!
