Madonna has been taking to social media pages to build for her new music video and now it’s here. It features Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora and many more. You can see from stills here, Madonna dances through a wild hotel, with dancers following. Throughout the wild 4-minute clip, the camera quickly shows some famous faces, including Beyoncé striking a “Vogue” pose, Miley splashed with blue glitter and Chris Rock.
Bitch, I’m Madonna stars some of Taylor Swift’s sworn enemies, you know. Katy’s supposedly the subject of Bad Blood, she had a falling out with Miley, and Rita used to date her now-boyfriend, Calvin Harris. And even though they’ve made up no one will forget Kanye’s diss of her! Still, Tay-Tay seems to have no beef with Madge, and they performed a duet together at the iHeartRadio Awards in March.
Video director, Jonas Akerlund told Entertainment Weekly about the making of this epic scheduling nightmare;
“Madonna called me about ‘Ghosttown.’ We hadn’t worked for a while because of different circumstances so when I heard all the songs [on Rebel Heart], I was very excited about ‘Ghosttown.’ I connected to it creatively. And, yeah, we enjoyed working together. I was supposed to start something else right after and that got pushed and she asked me to do ‘Bitch I’m Madonna.’ I saw it being so completely different from ‘Ghosttown,’ something a little bit less serious, just fun and crazy.”
Here are a bunch of stills from it, because, as of right now you can only view the video on Tidal. I know, right? I was bummed too. Of course, the thinking is to get people to sign up for the failing music service (of which Madonna is a partner) but I’m afraid the effect just pisses everyone off. As soon it’s available elsewhere, I’ll post the link here. But there are 10 remixes of the song with Nicki Minaj featured on Spotify if you’d like to compare and contrast.
NOTE: I just that Vevo has the full video… let’s hope the link continues to work. Btw, now that I’ve seen the whole video, I can tell you it was shot three blocks from my front door at The Standard Highline.
