Remember Porpoise Spit, the Australian town where Muriel of Muriel’s Wedding lived? There’s another Spit in the news today, reports stuff.co.nz. A monstrous sunfish washed up at New Zealand’s Farewell Spit on Sunday. No idea what a Spit is, but Farewell Spit is, apparently, so delightful that there are tours available. And gigantic sunfish seem to wash ashore there every two years. This recent one, with its face like Joan Crawford’s, was initially thought to be a whale. “It looked fresh. It did not smell and it had not been pecked over,” said a local resident, who sounds as if she mistakenly thought she was at the fish market. Coincidentally, we at the WOW Report choose partners who look fresh, do not smell, and haven’t been pecked over.
