You might recall, back in June, President Trump used a Bible as a photo op after ordering federal law enforcement to fire pepper spray and rubber bullets at peaceful George Floyd protesters… just so they could clear a path for him to St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Now, according to Page Six, memorabilia dealer Gary Zimet claims that he’s selling it — with Trump’s signature.
“A few days after Trump famous photo opp with the Bible in front of the church I had a contact of mine in the White House get him to sign it. It took forever to get in contact with them to send it to me but I will have it for auction on Tuesday.” The starting bid will go for $37, 500.
“The Bible is not so much important in terms of history but given what Trump has done during protest and being in the White House the fact that he would dare to sign a Bible is extraordinary. Inaugural copies the Bible that Obama was sworn in on Grover Cleveland was sworn in on, those are signed but I never seen another sign by a president especially by a sitting president.”
Zimet adds, “I think a lot of Trump supporters will like to get their hands on this item. Knowing that it was signed I was very excited to finally get it. It’s a great rarity to have.”
