Beyoncé Just Changed All Our Lives For The Better With The Release Of ‘LEMONADE: The Visual Album’

Unless you live under a very sad depressing rock, you probably knew that Beyoncé premiered a film called Lemonade on HBO tonight. It all started last weekend when she dropped a mysterious 1-minute long video teaser. Members of the Beyhive everywhere were basically losing it this entire week in preparation for SOMETHING, even though no one knew what to expect.

Beyoncé didn’t disappoint. The film was an hour-long visual that accompanied several of the tracks on the album which dropped exclusively on TIDAL about midway through the HBO feature. A lot of thematic ground was covered in Lemonade throughout the gorgeous visuals, music, and spoken word poetry. As described by TIDAL, the album is “a conceptual project based on every woman’s journey of self-knowledge and healing.” It covers topics such as suffering through a male romantic partner’s infidelity, daddy issues, black feminism, and made a point to bring the deep south back from the margins of radical blackness. In addition, Lemonade took a moment to honor Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown as well by portraying their mothers holding portraits of their late sons.

In case you missed out on the television event, check out some of these tweets to get caught up and head on over to TIDAL to experience it all for yourself.

…And excuse me while I go recover.
