In addition to many moving eulogies at today’s public memorial for Kobe & Gianna “Gigi” Bryant at Staples Center in Los Angeles, several incredible musicians performed beautiful tributes to the sports legend and his daughter, including Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, and Alicia Keys.
Beyoncé performed breathtaking renditions of two of Kobe’s favorite songs: “XO” and “Halo.”
Speakers, performers, and attendees spotted by USA Today included Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Jordan, Jimmy Kimmel, Magic Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Lamar Odom, Metta World Peace, Kawhi Leonard, Phil Jackson, James Harden, Derek Fisher, Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Russell Westbrook, Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Phelps, and Kareem Abdul-Jabar.
Alicia Keys played Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata,” a song Kobe learned to play himself.
Christina Aguilera performed Schubert’s “Ave Maria“:
