Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine were married for 32 days in 1964. But Tracy Edmonds and Eddie Murphy couldn’t hold out that long. Two weeks after their New Year’s Day wedding ceremony on an island near Bora Bora, they released this statement:
“After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.”
We wonder just how much the “much” was in the “much consideration and discussion” considering how short a time they had to consider and discuss between the wedding and the statement.
