VP Mike Pence and his family are staying in Aspen, Colorado for the holidays and his neighbors just did something amazing. They put out a rainbow flag on a pillar that sits at the end of both homes’ driveways that says,
“Make America Gay Again”
Someone staying in the home said that the banner was instigated by daughter that lives there and her girlfriend. Pitkin County Sheriff Joe DiSalvo told The Aspen Times that a deputy from his office was there when a man came out and hung the banner. DiSalvo said,
“He was real sheepish and thought he might be confronted by the Secret Service or deputies who’d tell him he couldn’t do it. When they said, ‘We’re not here to control your free speech rights,’ they came out with chili and began feeding them.”
As you know, Pence is militantly anti-LGBT. He supported a 2006 amendment defined marriage as being between a man and a woman, and also said that legalizing same-sex marriage would create a
“societal collapse.”
Yeah, well, that didn’t happen, did it? And Trump has said that Pence
“wants to hang all gay people.”
Pence and his family have become targets of LGBT protests since their move to D.C. where protesters have held “queer dance parties” outside his residence.
Resistor of the year, if you ask me.
