Under his usual shroud of mystery, prank artist Banksy has hauled a collection of his most popular novelty art into the City Museum and Art Gallery in his hometown of Bristol, England, for a surprise homecoming retrospective. It was no easy task for the museum, which has had to keep the entire installation process secret since October. Only a couple of staffers were informed, and the rest – as well as the city council – were told a movie was being shot in the building. The museum’s director never met or saw Banksy, who apparently was disguised as one of the art movers. The exhibit opens tomorrow. A BBC news presenter previews the show in this clip, and his casual manner tinged with wry disdain is just right for the job. (via Towleroad)
