British street artist Banksy paid homage to the late TV art instructor Bob Ross confirming he’s behind a new prison break mural in England.
The piece appeared earlier this week shows an escapee scaling down a rope made of bedsheets, with a typewriter. It is thought to represent Oscar Wilde, who served two years in the prison for the crime of gross decency, when being gay was a crime.
Banksy shared the video to Instagram on Thursday, titled “Create Escape”, parodying Ross’ TV show, The Joy Of Painting.
Footage of the prison piece being painted in the dead of night is shown with audio of Ross, making it appear as if the late artist is actually commenting on Banksy’s new art.
