Just as Time magazine honors murdered and capturtured journalists by naming them “Person of the Year“, Trump sends a big FU to the press.
He just canceled the decades-old White House Christmas party with the media, a big party in where journalists and staffers at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. hang out and bury the hatchet. But this year, that hatchet might have gotten buried –in someone’s back.
According to the report by Howard Kurtz, who didn’t disclose where his information came from, The White House did not announce the info or respond to requests for comment by The Post.
At last year’s event, POTUS and FLOTUS didn’t pose for pictures, a time when guests would normally get to chat with the first couple near the Christmas tree.
But it’s not surprising since Trump has repeatedly slammed the “fake news”. He calls them the “enemy of the people” fought with CNN’s Jim Acosta, on camera and had his credentials pulled after the testy exchange. His press pass was restored, but only after the network filed a lawsuit.
Last year, CNN boycotted the party because of the president’s “continued attacks” on journalists. The party was moved to a weekday afternoon, making it hard for reporters to bring spouses or their children.
Trump has also boycotted the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner two years in a row.
