“Nothin’ on You” star B.o.B. has started a GoFundMe campaign to send a satellite into space to prove his theory that the Earth is just a flat disc hanging in space.
Hi Flat-Earther B.o.B here. I started this GoFundMe because I’d like to send one, if not multiple satellites as far into space as I can, or into orbit, to find the curve. I’m looking’ for the curve.
To that end, he says he needs is a small investment of $200,000 dollars (and launch approval, of course). So far he’s received $1,771.
Via HuffPo:
B.o.B. has expressed skepticism about the Earth being truly round since 2015.
“No matter how high in elevation you are … the horizon is always eye level …sorry cadets … I didn’t wanna believe it either,” he claimed, according to the paper. ”Don’t believe what I say, research what I say. I’m going up against the greatest liars in history … you’ve been tremendously deceived.”
In January 2016, astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson attempted to calmly respond to the rapper’s “evidence” on Twitter, before finally getting frustrated.
@bobatl Duude — to be clear: Being five centuries regressed in your reasoning doesn’t mean we all can’t still like your music

Tyson dropped the mic on B.o.B.’s flat Earth beliefs a few days later on The Nightly Show.
“Isaac Newton, my man, said, ‘If I have seen farther than others, it’s by standing on the shoulders of giants.’ Can I get an amen? So that’s right B.o.B. When you stand on the shoulders of those who came before, you might just see far enough to realize the Earth isn’t fucking flat!”
He added, “And, by the way, this is called gravity!”
One GoFundMe commenter had a bright idea:
Bro. I am totally with you on this. But we cannot trust anything but our senses. The technology you’re using will make it appear that the earth is round because of the curvature of the lenses mounted on your satellite. The only way to find out if the earth is flat is by going to outer soace yourself and ejecting yourself from the spacecraft, because the window glass would also have a slight curvature making the earth look round. Then you have to get out of your space suit, becayse the glass on your space suit will curve the appearance of the earth. So only then you will see that the earth is in fact, flat.
