Eastern Gray kangaroos in Australia are on the rampage in the suburbs of Canberra, according to Reuters via yahoo. The roos are moving out of the dry, scorched bush and onto the streets in search of grass and water. And they don’t mind snatching up a pet dog or two in their hunt.
[O]ne woman [was] savaged by a large kangaroo as she was walking her small, pet dog in a paddock last week. . . Another woman told how a kangaroo drowned one of the four dogs she was walking with a friend, attacking it in a pond and holding it under the water with its hind legs while it hit out at one of the other dogs with its front legs.
The solution is very simple: If you should see a roo coming at you, just slip into the safety of one of Australia’s multitudinous public restrooms. Problem solved.
