Last week, New Orleans–based pop artist and entrepreneur Ashley Longshore brought her iconic works of art to the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. On the occasion of the hotel’s 30th birthday, Longshore’s art now has a residency at the iconic property to bring her pop-art version of celebration to the hotel’s milestone year.
Longshore is known for her bold portraits and larger-than-life personality, and you can spot her art at her independently owned gallery, and the Diane von Furstenberg flagship store in New York, just to name a few.
Designer Luigi Irauzqui writes, “Known for her energetic, brash, unapologetic, and colorful works, she melds together fashion iconography, pop culture icons, historical figures, and mass-market brands to create a commentary on themes such as feminism and American consumerism while celebrating and satirizing contemporary pop culture.”
He continues, “Eye-popping, thought-provoking, but above keeping it fun, Ashley has become one of my favorite modern artists and I can’t wait to feature her in Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine soon. A voice of a generation… And also just happens to be one of the funniest, warmest and genuine artists out there!”
Mitch Manning writes, “Her work is the embodiment of her essence — a conversation piece, larger than life, colorful, bold, inspiring, lights up a room, unique, daring, worthy — a show stopper. I wish these photos did the pieces justice.”
