A portrait of beautiful actress Jeanette Loff who had a fleeting Hollywood career from 1927 to 1934. The daughter of a Danish violinist, she had a beautiful face and a soprano voice and was famous for her long blonde hair. She played ingénues in several films but never became a major star. By 1942, she was married to her second husband, her career was over, and she died suddenly of ammonia poisoning. She was 36. It’s unclear whether it was an accident or suicide, but we suspect she may have taken to the fainting couch too often. She’s buried in the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn in Glendale, California.
