The trailer for the film adaptation of Donna Tartt’s bestselling novel The Goldfinch has just dropped. The coming-of-age story centers on a young boy, Theodore Decker, who survives terrorist attack at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The Pulitzer Prize winner for Fiction in ’14, The Goldfinch takes its title from the Carel Fabritius painting of the same name which plays a pivotal plot point in the film. (Spoiler: He steals it from the museum.)

The film has an all-star cast with Ansel Elgort as Theo, and also starring Nicole Kidman, Luke Wilson, Sarah Paulson, and Jeffrey Wright.
The Goldfinch hits theaters in September. So this summer, if you haven’t already, you have time to read the book which Stephen King called,
“A triumph.”
Watch.
