Well, THIS got my attention.
Ryan Murphy has so many shows on the air and in production, that news of yet another is about as interesting as an old piece of gum.
But a show set in New York? In the ’80s? Looking at “the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: from the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe, to the downtown social and literary scene and the ball cultural world”?
UM, YES PLEASE!
Count me in!
In fact, make me a consultant, Ryan! I was there for ALL OF THAT! And I have the press clippings to prove it!
I imagine a dizzying kaleidoscope of scenes alternating from Ivana Trump and Brooke Astor to Dianne Brill and Tama Janowitz to Angie Extravaganza and Dorian Corey. Oh! Oh! Maybe he’ll tell the story of Dorian and the mummy! OMG, I WANT TO PLAY DORIAN!
Says the Hollywood Reporter:
Murphy is writing the project with frequent collaborator Brad Falchuk (American Horror Story) and Stephen Canals. The trio will executive produce with Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson (The People v. O.J. Simpson). Sherry Marsh will also serve as a producer on the drama, which will be co-produced by Fox 21 TV Studios and FX Productions.
Unlike Murphy’s three other FX series — American Horror Story, American Crime Story and Feud — Pose would not be an anthology but an ongoing series. Murphy talked to THR about returning to serialized television late last year.
