On Britain’s Got Talent, young Malakai Bayoh gave a soaring performance of “Pie Jesu,” moving the audience and viewers at home and earning a rare Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell himself.
As Bayoh’s mom and sister watched from their seats, the promising young 13-year-old brought chills and tears to many, including the judges’ panel.
The performance was just a few months after a hateful heckler got banned for life from the Royal Albert Hall for screaming “Rubbish!” as the youngster belted out an aria from Handel’s Alcina.
Judge for yourself how he did in his debut on the “Alleluia” from Mozart’s 1773 motet, Exsultate, jubilate.
Reaction was swift and strong after the attendee’s outburst, with support pouring in for Bayoh from all over the world of classical music.

Classical star Aled Jones invited Bayoh to sing with him over the holidays. Jones himself made his debut at that young age, so he obviously has a soft spot for other prodigies and wants to encourage a love of classical music in a new generation.
It’s great that the young star-in-the-making is not letting haters discourage him. Go Malakai!
